Cheeky Mama: Happy garage sale season

Garage sales are what really rock my world.

Come summertime, they seem to be around every corner.

While driving to the store, out of nowhere, bam, I’ll spot one. Running late or not, I have to stop. It’s an addiction.

I don’t just wander around the garage sale aimlessly. Nope, I have a strategy. Like reading a book, I start from the left.
If there should be items in the center of the rectangle, I will do another loop.

What am I looking for? I really have no freaking idea. When something strikes my fancy, my heart skips a beat.

Maybe it’s an article of clothing, a piece of artwork or furniture, but this little gem is finding a new home.

I try my best to talk the seller down.
I don’t low-ball anyone. Rather, I feel like we come to a fair compromise. This way my karma is clean.

Online buying and selling is the popular craze, but for some reason, I find it a hassle. I have, however, done my fair share of both.

For me, artisan markets are lovely but expensive. Flea markets are too busy. Resale shops aren’t bad, but not my first go-to. Oh, and the antique malls are usually picked over, unless they are in Arkansas.

This mama is always looking for deals and steals. Rarely do I pay full price. A discount is my goal. In stores, I enjoy sales and applying coupons.

Plenty of entertainment places offer freebies to soldiers and veterans. I can’t count the number of times my family has received free admission.

Being an educator has its perks, too.

My cup overfloweth with gratitude for my deals and steals.

My heart belongs to my cherished garage sales. Hosting a garage sale is awful, but hunting for the unknown elsewhere gets my motor running.

They are perfect for this cheeky mama. They are so convenient, so eclectic, so generous and such a cheap date.
