First State Bank has welcomed Sheela Prahlad as vice president – commercial lender of its new branch at 1940 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore.

Prahlad has been in the banking industry for 31 years, spending the past 24 years in the DeKalb/Sycamore area as a commercial lender.
Prahlad serves as a board member of Kishwaukee United Way and is a member of the finance committee for Safe Passage. Past organizations include treasurer of Tails Humane Society, Kishwaukee Family YMCA board member, treasurer of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce board, Ben Gordon Center board member, DeKalb Public Library board member, and member of the St. Mary DeKalb School Advisory and DeKalb School District 428 Citizens Financial Advisory committees.
She resides in DeKalb with her husband, Brian Scholle, and son Grant.
