To the Editor:
I wonder if Rep. Adam Kinzinger has seen the results of a recent poll done by Public Policy Polling. It reported that last year in Texas’ 12th Congressional District, Pete Sessions didn’t even have a Democratic opponent. He now trails a generic Democrat by 48 percent to 43 percent.
Here in Illinois’ 16th Congressional District, we have much better than a “generic Democrat” – with three strong Democrats running and two Republicans challenging you, congressman, in the Republican primary.
People are mad out here. We, people from both parties, feel as if we have no representation. You don’t come to the district and talk to us. We call your office with questions about your stance on issues important to us and are told by your staff either they don’t know your stance or can’t speak for you. We leave messages and questions for you, but all we ever get in return are form emails that don’t answer our questions. Same thing happens when we email. But we keep trying.
The people of the 16th District deserve to be heard and represented. If you won’t do it, we will be happy to vote for one of the other five candidates.
