Egyptian Theatre offers volunteer training open houses

DeKALB – Looking to volunteer your time this year? The Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb is looking for volunteers for its 2018 spring season.

With a variety of show dates, times and genres, there are many opportunities to volunteer this season. You can volunteer once a month, twice a month, or whatever fits into your schedule. Every volunteer hour helps keep this historic theater alive and open for everyone’s enjoyment.

Anyone interested in learning more about ways to volunteer at the theater is encouraged to attend one of the many upcoming Volunteer Training and Open House events. Training events are offered Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 17 through Feb. 7 and Feb. 21. An event also will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 17.

The Egyptian Theatre, at 135 N. Second St. in downtown DeKalb, is owned and operated by Preservation of Egyptian Theatre Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
