DeKALB – On average, college students are taking six years to get a four-year degree. The DeKalb Public Library will host a presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday where representatives from My College Planning Team will discuss ways to beat that average.
Participants will review important factors in preparing for the college search and learn new ways to explore colleges for “fit” and how to engage their student in the process.
This seminar, for parents (but current high school sophomores and juniors are welcome), will cover selecting college majors, secrets of the admissions process, and critical details of the new ACT/SAT preparation, including ways to improve scores.
My College Planning Team is a consortium divided into two groups – educational consultants and a variety of financial specialists who each serve their client families.
Both parents are encouraged to attend this free, 90-minute seminar. It will be held in the lower-level Zimmerman Meeting Room. Register online at www.dkpl.org, by phone at 815-756-9568, ext. 2150, or in person at the Adult Services desk on the main floor of the library.
