SYCAMORE – A Yorkville man accused of hitting a pregnant woman in DeKalb with a stolen SUV was ordered to be released on his signature Thursday afternoon.
Timothy T. Fulton, 18, of the 2100 block of Henning Lane, is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. If convicted of the more serious charge, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, he could face three to seven years in prison.
Police said in court records that about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Fulton crashed a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer – reportedly stolen in Aurora earlier in the day – into a light post in the 800 block of Kimberly Drive in DeKalb, and that the vehicle knocked down a pregnant pedestrian, whose arm was hurt. She was taken to a hospital, records show.
Fulton told Judge Philip Montgomery that he lives at a foster home and attends an alternative high school. Assistant State’s Attorney Alicia Caplan said Fulton has at least one juvenile conviction.
Fulton is due back in court at 9 a.m. April 6.
