38-year-old, 24-year-old accused of cocaine possession

MALTA – Two men face drug charges after DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies and DeKalb police arrested them Friday night at a Malta gas station.

Sheriff’s narcotics officers and members of the DeKalb Police Department Targeted Response Unit responded about 5:25 p.m. Friday to the Marathon gas station at 4201 Route 38 in Malta to investigate, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Tyrone T. Phillips II, 38, of the 200 block of Charles Street, Chicago Heights, and Patrick M. Eby, 24, were arrested as a result of the investigation.

Both men face charges in connection with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, and Phillips was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were taken to the DeKalb County Jail and are awaiting bond hearings.
