DeKalb man had chance to apologize, failed

To the Editor:

I am appalled that the Daily Chronicle printed the lengthy article about Michael Dickey on March 31. Dickey verbally abused a Muslim woman as she shopped at Walmart. Then he insolently attempted to remove her head covering.

It is inconceivable that, when given a chance to apologize to the victim, Dickey instead whines about being unfairly judged.

He brought that judgment upon himself when he put his racism and bigotry on display.

I am not in the least sorry that his reproachable actions may interfere with his chaplaincy work. He has rendered himself unfit to serve in that role.
