MALTA – The Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees is expected to vote Tuesday night on a contract extension for President Laurie Borowicz.

Borowicz, hired in December 2015, took over as president in January 2016. She initially made $175,000 annually before her contract was extended through June 30, 2021, with a salary increase to $185,000 .

If approved, the proposed extended four-year contract will pay Borowicz about $190,000, and she will get a 2.75 raise in the second and third years of her contract, and a 2.5 percent hike in the final year.

Borowicz’s initial contract included a contribution on behalf of the Borowicz to the State Universities Retirement System equal to 4 percent of her salary, and the pension contribution was upped to 8 percent in the extension approved last year.

The board will vote on the proposed extension, for July 1 through June 30, 2022, at its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

On May 1 each year of the contract, Borowicz’s performance over the previous year will be reviewed by the board, according to the agenda.

Borowicz took the position after the retirement of President Tom Choice, who received a base salary of $178,228 in his last year.
