DeKALB – Summer Reading begins at the DeKalb Public Library on Monday, June 4, and runs through Aug. 4.
Summer Reading is for all ages, with children, teen and adult reading logs and prizes for each age level. Children’s reading clubs are open to ages 0-12, Teen Summer Reading is for ages 13-18, and Adult Summer Reading is for ages 19 and older.
Children will earn a free book and other prizes, while supplies last, by completing their first reading log and turning it into the Children’s reference desk. DeKalb cardholders may also turn in bonus reading logs. Completing these will earn you additional prizes, while supplies last. Non-DeKalb cardholders may participate in all Summer Reading programs that do not require registration and will receive a free book and other prizes upon completion of one reading log. Prizes will be available starting June 27. Raffle winners will be drawn at the summer reading wrap-up party on Aug. 4.
For adults, read or listen to a total of five books of your own choosing. Return your completed reading log to the Adult Services desk by Aug. 4. Your reading log serves as an entry for the raffle of prizes at the end of the program. You may fill out as many reading logs as you would like.
