The DeKalb County 4-H program will hold its annual 4-H General Project Show on July 11 at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Building in Sycamore.
This day of judging offers 4-H members an opportunity to display exhibits within their project areas. All 4-H members in the General Project Show will participate in conference judging. The youth will visit with adults serving as project judges and answer a variety of questions related to their project area.
Conference judging is a way for youth to enhance their communication and interview skills, as well as share their knowledge within the project area. Once the judging procedures have been completed, the judges have the opportunity to recognize a number of youth to receive special awards and recognition.
On the afternoon and evening of Thursday, July 12, the General Project Show will be open for the public to review the exhibits. Other events taking place on that evening include carnival games for the whole family, the 4-H rocket launches, fashion revue and awards program. Those interested in supporting and seeing local 4-H members in action are encouraged to attend the 4-H General Project Show.
