DeKALB – Teens can help re-design the “Space” Space at the DeKalb Public Library.
The “Space” Space is a 6-foot-tall display in the children’s department that will be up all summer showcasing information about Jupiter to library patrons.
The display changes every week, and on Friday afternoons in July from 1 to 3 p.m., teens can work with others in the Teen Room to help decide on and make the changes.
The real challenge is figuring out how to present the information in ways that inspire curiosity and interest (e.g., posing questions, making up riddles, catching attention).
No prior knowledge about Jupiter is necessary; some experience in thinking or using craft materials is helpful. This fre program is intended for grades 6-12. Registration is not required.
