DeKALB – On Friday, children ages 8 months to 8 years are invited to test their math, science and architecture skills at the Ellwood House Museum’s BLOCK Fest event, presented by the Northern Illinois University Center for P-20 Engagement.

Starting at 11 a.m., children can interact with various building blocks at five guided stations. Participants should bring socks to wear on the program mats.

BLOCK Fest is the fifth of six summer programs offered by Ellwood Explorers, the museum’s youth summer education series. Programs last approximately one hour and take place rain or shine. Participants must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian.

This event is free, but registration is requested. To register, visit ellwoodhouse.org/learn or contact curator Audrey Hale at 815-756-4609 or hale@ellwoodhouse.org.

The Ellwood House Museum is at 509 N. First St. in DeKalb.
