GENOA – A recreational vehicle parked at 115 Winding Trail in Genoa was incinerated after a Wednesday afternoon fire.
Genoa-Kingston emergency services responded at 2:18 p.m., Genoa Police Chief Robert Smith said.
Liz Anderson, a neighbor nearby, said she heard a loud boom that shook her home, so she woke her child up from a nap to check it out.
Smith said the homeowner of
115 Winding Trail had been performing maintenance to his RV behind his house when he noticed it starting to smoke.
In a panic, he moved the vehicle to the front of his house and called 911, Smith said.
As emergency services arrived, the owner ran back into his house to get his wife and two dogs away from the scene, Smith said.
The fire was contained within a half-hour, and although the RV was destroyed, the house only sustained siding damage.
