DeKALB – Both the Ottawa and DeKalb girls basketball teams entered Friday’s final regular season game in a similar boat – barely 24 hours removed from a rivalry game.
Ottawa played high-energy out the gate, said coach Brent Moore, and he said that was the difference in the Pirates’ 40-33 win over the Barbs.
“Both teams had conference rivals last night, and we knew it was going to be a heavy-leg kind of night,” Moore said. “Whoever could get through it on the defensive end was going to come out victorious. It was like a heavyweight boxing match going back and forth. We were fortunate enough to get it done.”
