Northern Illinois men's basketball has landed the forward transfer it was looking for in Chris Johnson, who is immediately eligible to play in the 2019-2020 season. Johnson shared the news of his commitment on Twitter.
Johnson, who academically will be a junior, is a 6 foot, 7 inch, 215-pound forward from Chicago who attended Thornton Fractional High School in Calumet City. Johnson spent the last season at NJCAA powerhouse South Suburban, where he averaged the most rebounds per game (14.5) in NJCAA Division II. He also scored 9.7 points per game.
