DeKALB – DeKalb police said they are waiting on toxicology results to determine cause of death for a body that was found Friday in the 800 block of Ridge Drive.
DeKalb police Cmdr. Bob Redel said it is the second time in recent weeks that a body has been found in the neighborhood. On May 24, a body was also found in a neighboring complex on Ridge Drive, Redel said, adding that the two instances are not believed to be related.
DeKalb police responded to calls for a deceased person early Friday afternoon, and police found the body of a DeKalb resident inside the apartment in the 800 block of Ridge Drive.
Redel said identifying information about the person is not being released because the investigation is ongoing, but confirmed the person’s friends discovered the body and called police.
The DeKalb County Coroner’s Office conducted autopsies on the body found Friday as well as the one found May 24.
“None of them shows obvious signs of any trauma,” Redel said.
The coroner’s reports on both bodies were inconclusive, Redel said, so police are waiting on medical reports to provide information about the cause of death.
