DeKALB – Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man suspected in a road rage incident that led to a stabbing Sunday.
The incident started about 1 p.m., when DeKalb police responded to a report of a road rage incident in the area of Lincoln Highway and Seventh Street, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Andy Sullivan said.
The vehicles left the area and stopped again a short time later near the intersection of Peace Road and Fairview Drive, outside DeKalb city limits.
Sullivan said one man got out of each vehicle. One had a knife, and slashed at and stabbed the other man in one of his shoulders before both men returned to their vehicles and left the area, he said.
The victim made his way to Dollar General, 1401 S. Fourth St., where he called police, saying he was lightheaded. He was hospitalized for his injuries and was later released, Sullivan said.
Sullivan said the suspect is a male in his 20s, either Hispanic or Asian, who drove a silver car with a black spoiler.
Sullivan said police hope to get more information about the vehicle including its license plate number from video cameras at the toll plaza in the area.
