Tips for Your Next Holiday Gathering

SPONSORED

It’s that time of year when the holiday festivities begin. Whether I am hosting a holiday party or Christmas dinner I want my guests to feel the cheer of the holiday season. Here are few ideas that have helped me make sure my holiday get-together is special for all.

Let’s start with decorations don’t feel the need to use traditional colors. Choose colors that compliment the style of your home and that are appealing to you. Once you have that figured out you can build from there.  A great way to make an impact is to fill glass vases or bowls with ornaments add a string of batter operated twinkle lights to create a warm glow.

Next is onto mood or ambiance. Add some extra warmth to your home by adding a couple of pendent lights above a table or counter top. Candles can also add light to the corners where lamps can’t reach. Use battery-operated candles to ensure there are no mishaps and you can focus on entertaining your guests.

Finally, is seating, there is always a need for extra seating at a holiday gathering. Look for benches, ottomans, or accent chairs to provide extra seating. Another fun way to add extra seating is to arrange large floor pillows with extra cozy blankets as another way for your guests to relax.

One last secret. During the holiday season there is always room for an extra sweet treat. Use candy to decorate for your special event. You could spread Hershey Kisses across a counter or table top or use candy canes or festive hard candies in glass dishes and jars.

Use these tips and you will be sure to be the St. Nick of your next holiday gathering. Happy Holidays from Fargo Home Furnishings!
